I am a college student at the University of Missouri majoring in photojournalism and anthropology. My passion for cooking grew out of my obsession with food photography and the new kitchen I acquired upon leasing my first apartment my sophomore year. I have always loved to cook, but cooking with your mother and cooking by yourself are two totally different things, I have come to find. Here, I post my trials and errors with baking, grilling, broiling, cooking and sauteing while working within a budget. Most of my recipes are catered to smaller portion sizes, as only so many leftovers will fit in my fridge. I also try to work with as few ingredients as possible because I’ve come to find it’s hard to keep some things fresh when you’re the only person using them. Join me on my sometimes disastrous adventures in the kitchen and learn with me, or just laugh at my misfortune.

Because I am also a photojournalism student, I keep a separate blog, Life Through My Lens, featuring the photographs and stories I report throughout my time at school and with internships.

    Came across your blog on Foodgawker, and realized you’re a Mizzou student. Your blog is beautiful, and your food looks fantastic!! It was nice to come across a local blog. I’m sure I’ll be visiting again!
